This application requires newer version of the Microsoft .net compact framework

Hi, i apologise in advance as i realise this is not strictly an xp query, i'm sorry!. But i thought you guys might know with your vast knowledge .

I've just bought the Samsung Omnia i900 mobile phone running Win Mobile 6.1 and nearly every app i try to install on it gives me this error when i try to run it: "This application requires newer version of the Microsoft .net compact framework than the version installed on this device"
I have downloaded NETCFSetup35 (net framework 3.5), but it seems to be for a windows based pc, not for a mobile platform.

How can i stop this error happening?

Best Regards,
Andy

Hi Andy

Is this the one you've used? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

It does say, "Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4; Windows CE .NET; Windows Mobile 2003 SE software for Pocket PC; Windows Mobile 5.0; Windows Mobile 6; Windows Vista; Windows XP"

Oh thanks Vino, thats brilliant. Does that have to first be installed on my PC, or do i simply start it from the storage area of the Phone ?

Hi Andy

I don't think it has to be on your PC first.

Try connecting your phone
Open Windows Mobile Device Center
Then run the msi installer
Select Modify, expand the options and select Deployment
WMDC will install it automatically on your phone though you may have to select the destination memory area.
